Charnay

Beautiful village of the Beaujolais region, owing its name to the village Beaujeu, and often nicknamed "the land of golden stones". If you wander in that region, you will see a lot of those houses, built with the local stones, with that very special vivid coulour. You can also try the local wine, known for its simplicity and lightness (less strong and sweet than wines of she Southwest of France). In the same area, you can visit a lot of nice villages, easily accessible by car, and 45 minutes away from Lyon, such as Ternand (middle-age village, less touristy than Perouges), Saint-Jean-des-Vignes (where you can also see an archeological museum), Bully...
